Former Employee Pleads Not Guilty to Burger King Sex Assaults

It's the second similar arrest involving an employee at the fast-food restaurant

A former Burger King supervisor pleaded not guilty on Friday morning to charges that he sexually assaulted three co-workers at the restaurant where they worked.

Police say 27-year-old Paul Richford of Worcester, Massachusetts, inappropriately touched a woman and two juvenile girls between July 1 and Sept. 9, when he worked at the fast-food restaurant. He also threatened one victim by posing as a Hampton, New Hampshire, police officer, displaying a vest, firearm and ammunition. He was arrested Thursday on 14 counts, including sexual assault and simple assault.

Richford was a shift leader/supervisor at the Burger King on Route 1 in Portsmouth. Additionally, he worked at Five Guys Burgers, which is also located on Route 1 in Portsmouth.

The Portsmouth Herald reports that this is the second similar arrest of a Burger King employee in the past month. Victor Garcia, 23, of Hampton, was previously charged with sexually assaulting a teenager at the same restaurant.

Richford's bail was set at $10,000 cash. Bail conditions bar him from going near the Burger King or contacting any of the victims. He is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 20 for a probable cause hearing.
