Man Charged with Kidnapping, Assaulting Woman

A Massachusetts man is facing a kidnapping charge after he allegedly held a woman against her will with a knife on Tuesday morning.

Around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, police in Portsmouth, New Hampshire received a call from a woman who said her friend had just been assaulted and held against her will with a knife by an acquaintance. The victim said the suspect accused her of stealing money from him and threatened to kill her while holding a knife to her throat.

Portsmouth Police were able to locate the victim and the reporting party, who were then brought to the police station.

The suspect, Mark Rodrick, 20, of 416 Pine St., Leicester, Massachusetts, fled the area and was later apprehended as a fugitive from justice by Leicester Police. He was held without bail and is now facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, criminal threatening, second degree assault, criminal restraint, reckless conduct, witness tampering and simple assault.
