Man Confessed to Hartford Bank Robbery: Police

Police have arrested a suspect in a robbery on Tuesday at Webster Bank in Hartford.

Police identified Jeffrey Romanchuck, 53, of Hartford, as the suspect.

He handed a note to a teller at Webster Bank, at 680 Park St., at 3:31 p.m., implied he had a weapon and the teller handed over a handful of $20 bills, worth a combined $2,520, according to police.

On Thursday, someone called police after seeing the photo the department distributed and said officers could find Romanchuck at Park and Zion streets.

When officers found him, Romanchuck confessed to being involved in the robbery, police said.

He was charged with second-degree robbery.
