Officials say a Chelsea, Massachusetts, man was found guilty of second-degree murder in the fatal shootings of a cab driver and his girlfriend three years ago.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office says 31-year-old Maurice Morrison was also convicted Monday of unlawful gun possession in the deaths of 52-year-old Zouaoui Dani-Elkebir and his girlfriend, 38-year-old Karima El-Hakim.
Authorities say Dani-Elkebir and El-Hakim were inside a taxi in Chelsea in May 2013 when Morrison shot them both in the head. They say Morrison had texted Dani-Elkebir in order to get him to pick him up while El-Hakim was in the car.
Prosecutors presented evidence showing Morrison had a personal conflict with El-Hakim.
Morrison faces a mandatory life term when he's sentenced Nov. 23.
