A man is dead Friday after falling from a window at an assisted living home in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, authorities confirm.
The Penny Lane Seniors Residence on South Street was quiet Friday night, but earlier in the afternoon, a resident at the senior living facility fell out a second-floor window onto a concrete walkout basement entry down below.
First responders attempted CPR on the 67-year-old man. He was rushed to a hospital. The Worcester County District Attorney's Office confirmed Friday night that the man had passed away.
Neighbors are now baffled, wondering exactly what happened and how he could fall out.
"Nobody has seen anything, just heard the sirens in the area," said neighbor Mari Berube. "It's a relatively quiet neighborhood."
State police assigned to the DA's office are leading the investigation.
Authorities do not believe foul play is involved and say the death does not appear to be suspicious.
