Man Found Guilty of Murder in 2013 Fitchburg, Mass. Apartment Slaying

Thirty-nine-year-old Dax Gibson was convicted on Tuesday of first-degree murder, home invasion and armed assault to rob

A Massachusetts man has been found guilty of murder in the 2013 shooting of a Fitchburg man.

Thirty-nine-year-old Dax Gibson was convicted on Tuesday of first-degree murder, home invasion and armed assault to rob in Worcester Superior Court.

Prosecutors say the Gardner man shot 26-year-old Luis Rodriguez three times inside his Fitchburg apartment on June 21, 2013. The shooting was part of a home invasion and robbery.

A co-defendant in the case is awaiting trial in Rodriguez's killing.

Prosecutors say Gibson fled to New York and then Richmond, Virginia where he was arrested a month after the killing.

Gibson faces life in prison without the possibility of parole when he's sentenced Feb. 29.
