A Massachusetts man convicted of dousing his girlfriend's two teenage daughters with gasoline and threatening to set them on fire has been sentenced to prison.
Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz's office says a judge on Wednesday ordered 48-year-old William Rearick of Pembroke to serve 2 ½ years in jail.
Rearick was found guilty of several assault charges last week.
Prosecutors said Rearick terrorized the girls, ages 14 and 17, along with their mother, on Jan. 9. 2013. Police said he poured gasoline throughout the house, opened a propane tank and also threatened to kill himself with a lighter.
One of the girls managed to break away and call 911, and the other struggled to take the lighter away.
