Man Hit By Car in Stamford Is in Critical Condition

Police are trying to identify the victim.

A man is in critical condition after a car hit him in Stamford on Wednesday night.

Police said they are working to confirm who the man is, but believe he is a 39-year-old Stamford resident.

He was on West Main Street, crossing the road near Diaz Street just before 8:30 p.m., when a 46-year-old Stamford woman driving a 1995 Toyota Camry hit him, according to a news release from police.

The pedestrian suffered severe, life-threatening head injuries and is at Stamford Hospital Critical Care Unit, where he is in critical condition.

The driver was not injured.

Stamford Police have not released the name of either person and are trying to confirm who the pedestrian is.
