Man Hospitalized After Being Struck by Cruiser in Webster, Massachusetts

Police were responding to a report of a fight

A man was hospitalized Sunday night after being struck by a police cruiser in Webster, Massachusetts, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.

Authorities said Sergeant Thomas Ralph was responding to a report of a fight between two men in a Prospect Street parking lot at about 10:30 p.m. When the sergeant entered the lot and took a sharp right, he struck a man who was lying on his back on the ground.

The man, identified as Jai Hylton, 18, of Webster, was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center where he remains hospitalized.

State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident.
