Man Indicted in Poisoning, Larceny Scheme That Targeted Gay Men

Riccardo D'Orsainveille, 51, is accused of using a made-up persona to target his victims

A Massachusetts man has been indicted in connection with a larceny scheme that targeted gay men.

Suffolk county district attorney's office says Riccardo D'Orsainville of Norwood has been charged with one count of kidnapping and three counts each of poisoning, larceny and receiving stolen property.

Authorities say D'Orsainville, 51, targeted at least three men using a made-up persona as a wealthy European émigré. He allegedly went to their Boston homes where he drank alcohol with them until they passed out.

D'Orsainville, who used to live in Boston, allegedly stole a variety of items between March and April 2013, including tuxedos, designer neckties and rare paintings and sculptures. Officials say one of the victims even woke up with his hands tied behind his back.

He is not charged with assaulting the victims, according to officials.
