Man Indicted on Manslaughter Charge in Crash That Killed Boy

Police say Michael Minson was driving on Route 11 on Aug. 11, when the car went off the road and crashed into a pole

The Cumberland County Grand Jury has indicted a Maine, man on manslaughter charges following a crash that killed a 4-year-old boy over the summer.

According to necn affiliate WCSH, Michael Minson, 28, was indicted for manslaughter (Class A); aggravated assault (Class B); causing a person's death while their license was suspended or revoked (Class B); and causing serious bodily injured after their license was revoked.

Police say Minson was driving on Route 11 on Aug. 11, when the car went off the road and crashed into a pole, splitting the vehicle in two.

The boy, Cameron Petersen, and his mother, 26-year-old Crystal Petersen, were in the vehicle at the time. Cameron died in the crash. Crystal was critically injured.

Police say speed was likely a factor.
