Man Sentenced for Role in Violent Cape Cod Home Invasion

24-year-old Jordan Gomes was sentenced Monday

A Taunton, Massachusetts, man is headed to prison for his role in a nightlong assault spree and Cape Cod home invasion in which the victims were brutally attacked.

The Cape Cod Times reports 24-year-old Jordan Gomes was sentenced Monday in Barnstable to 14 to 16 years behind bars after pleading guilty to charges including armed assault and burglary.

Prosecutors say Garber and two other men entered the Hyannis home through a locked basement door and knocked a man unconscious with a baseball bat in March 2014. They say the men beat two other women at the residence.

Prosecutors say the men had committed a series of assaults that night.

Gomes' attorney says his client "understands and is sorry for the horror'' the victims went through that day.
