Man Sentenced to Prison for Heroin, Cocaine Distribution

A Connecticut man has been sentenced to prison in connection with heroin and cocaine distribution in Massachusetts.

Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz says 25-year-old Tyvonne Gooden, of Manchester, was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Boston to 46 months behind bars followed by three years of probation. Gooden pleaded guilty in February to possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine.

Prosecutors say Massachusetts State Police tried to pull over Gooden's vehicle for a traffic violation on March 20, 2014. He led authorities on an hourslong chase before he was caught in Greenfield. He was found to be in possession of 190 bags of heroin and two bags of cocaine.
