Man Dies After Falling on MBTA Tracks

Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan says the man fell on the tracks around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday; he passed away from his injuries.

A Massachusetts man was killed Tuesday night after falling onto the tracks and being hit by a train in Boston.

The victim, a 30-year-old Quincy resident, fell on the tracks around 10:15 p.m. at Park Street Station on the MBTA Red Line, according to authorities.

The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Red Line trains were replaced by shuttle bus service for a short time after the crash.
