Man Struck, Killed by Tractor-Trailer Driven by Co-Worker

Police say the death of a worker who was run over by a colleague driving a tractor-trailer in Massachusetts appears to be an accident.

Norwood police responded to a 911 call at about 3:30 p.m. Monday about a pedestrian struck by a truck.

Chief William Brooks says the driver and the victim were employed by the same company and were delivering roofing supplies to a construction site. He says it appears the driver was backing up and did not know the victim was behind him.

He was killed instantly.

The driver showed no signs of impairment and was taken to the hospital for an evaluation as a precaution.

The accident remains under investigation but Brooks says it appears to be accidental.

No names were released.
