Man Who Assaulted Jogger May Have Been Spotted in Neighboring Town

Police in two Massachusetts towns may be looking for the same suspect.

Friday, police handed out hundreds of flyers with a composite image hoping for any information on a man accused of preying on women jogging — including one who was running in daylight along Lyman Street in Northborough.

"It shocked me that apparently, in an area so suburban like this, that something like that could happen," said Judy Janecek of Shrewsbury.

The victim told police she ran past a man around 10:30 Thursday morning near Talbot Road — he then began running behind her eventually gabbing her waist.

When she turned around to confront him, he ran away.

Police made a composite image of the man based on her description. He is about 5'8 and in his 30s. At the time of the attack, he was wearing khakis and a black T-shirt.

The victim told police she saw a black car drive down the road a short time later.

Less than two miles away, there was a similar incident in Westborough involving a black car that a woman says circled around her near Lake Chauncy.

There were two men in that car, and one matched the description of the suspect in Northborough.

Police have received several calls with information and detectives have spent the day following up on leads.

Anyone with information is asked to call (508) 393-1522.
