Market Basket CEOs Felicia Thornton and Jim Gooch sent a letter to store directors Thursday afternoon, telling them to have employees remove all "Boycott Market Basket" signs and requests for donations to associates.
The executives said that associates should be ordered to "remove all signs, posters or other written material and drawings" that is not related to pricing, store layout or required by government to be present.
Specifically, employees were asked to remove any signage or paint regarding the boycott and "all donation request signage related to any Market Basket associates, including the Market Basket Warehouse & Truck Driver fund."
In the letter, the executives also decreed store directors should schedule all of their full-time associates next week.
"Prioritization of scheduling full-time associates is a critical element of successfully delivering outstanding customer service and achieving store performance goals," they wrote. "We are not laying off full-time associates. You should plan to have your full-time associates work next week, and receive the hours required to maintain their full-time status."
The letter was sent one day after Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick spoke about the company dispute, urging employees to get back to work.
