Schools in Palmer, Massachusetts were shut down Thursday morning after a threatening message was discovered.

Police discovered graffiti on a school sign Wednesday evening that read “Shooting 12/1.” The threat has since been removed.

The school district decided to shut down all schools as a precaution while investigators looking into the source of the threat.

Classes are expected to be back on for Friday.
