MassDOT says construction crews completed the demolition of the old Highland Avenue bridge in Needham, Mass., and ended the detour earlier than expected.
The demolition, that began at 8 p.m. on Saturday,was a part of the I-95/Route 128 Add-A-Lane project. The work was originally scheduled to end on Sunday evening.
MassDOT said that work for the Add-A-Lane project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2019. Future activities in this project include the continued construction of Highland Avenue, Route 9 and Kendrick Street interchanges, road reconstruction, full-depth excavation, and repaving of the highway and ramps.
