Massachusetts Man Arraigned on Rape Charges in Brockton

Andy Thao, of Leominster, pleaded not guilty to charges

A Massachusetts man was arraigned Monday on charges he allegedly raped a 19-year-old girl on the grounds of Brockton High School last week.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said Andy Thao, 44, of Leominster, pleaded not guilty in Brockton District Court to one count of rape.

Thao was arrested Friday following a search warrant when officials at the high school contacted police Thursday to report the alleged rape.

Through an investigation, police said Thao met the victim at a family event weeks ago and the two began texting one another.

Authorities said Thao and the victim met up during lunch hour on Thursday when the victim told police Thao exposed himself in his vehicle and assaulted her.

The judge ordered Thao be held on $25,000 cash bail with the conditions that he have no contact with the victim and wear a GPS monitoring bracelet. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 29 for a probable cause hearing.
