Massachusetts Sex Offender Gets 15 Years in Prison

A Berkshire County man already listed on the state's sex offender registry has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for persuading a 16-year-old boy to travel to New York to engage in sexual activity.

Federal prosecutors say 53-year-old Ronald Brown, of Williamstown, was also sentenced Monday in federal court in Springfield to 10 years of probation.

Brown pleaded guilty in November to interstate travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors.

Authorities say in early 2013 Brown sent the boy from the Midwest a one-way ticket to fly to Newark International Airport in New Jersey, picked the boy up at the airport and transported him to New York to engage in sex.
