A Massachusetts middle school teacher agreed to stay in custody in federal court Thursday morning as he faced several allegations, including his attempts to purchase child pornography online.
Fifty-three-year-old Scott Peeler agreed to stay in custody until his formal detention hearing on July 7.
The judge also discussed the conditions of his potential release, including concerns for his kids, ages 4 and 21.
School officials in Southbridge say Peeler is on administrative leave and is not allowed on school grounds.
According to investigators, Peeler attempted at least four times to purchase live web-cam sex shows involving Filipino children.
The superintendent of Southbridge's schools spoke Wednesday, saying there is no indication that any of the school's students were involved.
