West Shore Middle School in Milford was closed on Wednesday as police investigated a threat against the school, but it will be open on Thursday after police determined the threat was not credible.
School officials notified parents on Tuesday night about the threat and said they decided to close the school for the day so police could investigate the "low-level threat."
"Investigators have developed information that the threat is non-credible and that the source of this threat in not local. As a result of these developments, the Milford Board of Education will be resuming school services at the West Shore Middle School on June 11, 2015. A School Resource Officer will be assisting the Milford Board of Education tomorrow," a statement from police said.
Parents said the threat was made on Instagram, but police haveonly said it was made through social media.
Police said the threat was specific to West Shore Middle School, but they increased security at all schools on Wednesday as a precaution.
