    John Lyon was rescued Sunday.

A 78-year-old man who went missing in Maine's Baxter State Park Thursday was found alive Sunday night.

According to necn affiliate WCSH, John Lyon was spotted on Fort Mountain and was rescued by a helicopter.

He was last seen hiking on the Mount Coe trail between Mount Coe and South Brother Mountain around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Virginia man had been hiking with three others, but left the group at lunch to hike ahead on the total 10-mile loop.

Lyon survived by eating just one granola bar a day.

He was transported to Millinocket Regional Hospital. His current condition is unknown.
