Mom Left Baby in Car as She Grocery Shopped: Police

A Willimantic mother is accused of leaving her 1-year-old child in a locked car as she grocery shopped on Thursday morning, according to police.

Police said Tingting Jiang, 25, of Ashford, left her baby in the car for around half an hour while she shopped at the Price Right in Willimantic.

She was charged with leaving a child unsupervised in a public place/motor vehicle and police notified the state Department of Children and Families.

Jiang is due in Danielson Superior Court on Dec. 21.

It’s not clear if she has an attorney.
