4 Charged in 2013 Murder Plead Not Guilty

Jordan Pizarro, 20, Jose Pizarro, 23, and Marlene Rios, 42, are facing several charges

A Worcester, Massachusetts, mother and her two adult sons are being held without bail in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Igor Busanet, Jr. in an apartment complex courtyard two years ago.

Forty-two-year-old Marlene Rios and her sons, 23-year-old Jose Pizarro and 20-year-old Jordan Pizarro, all pleaded not guilty to charges that they were accessories after the fact to Busanet's murder and that they misled investigators.

Busanet's sister Marangeliz Espino says while her family is relieved someone is being held responsible for his murder, she is also shocked.

"I knew the brothers, I've played basketball, I've played sports with them, I never thought they would go and hurt my brother and take him away from us the way they did," Espino said.

Espino says her brother was killed in front of his two young sons.

"They suffer, they have flashbacks, you know," said Espino, "his older son went through a big depression, we had to give him counseling."

A grand jury also indicted this man, 21-year-old Alexis Grajales, on four counts, including first-degree murder.

"Alexis Grajales did approach the victim, Igor Busanet, and fire six rounds from a firearm, striking him once in the abdomen," prosecutor Sarah Richardson said.

Rios is accused of driving the getaway car for Grajales.

"What went through my head was how could they kill a father, a brother, a good person? My brother was a good person, he had a good heart," Espino said.
