Is Seth Moulton Looking to Oust Nancy Pelosi as Democratic House Leader?

The Massachusetts Congressman is using Hillary Clinton's loss to push for a possible change

Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton is using Hillary Clinton's loss to push for a possible change in Democratic House leadership.

"The American people have sent us a very clear message that the status quo is not acceptable," Moulton (D-Salem) said. "We can't just plow through into a new term with the same status quo."

Moulton gathered enough House signatures to pressure Pelosi to put off leadership elections until after Thanksgiving. He and others believe Democrats need a clear strategy to take back the House in 2018, including a detailed policy agenda.

"I actually thought it was important for someone who's not interested in running against Leader Pelosi or for a leadership position to be the one to stand up and do it," Moulton added.

The vote for House Minority Leader was originally supposed to take place Thursday but has now been pushed back to Nov. 30. Pelosi said she has already secured the votes needed for the post.
