NH Police: Icy Conditions May be to Blame for Fatal Crash in Dover

Police say Olha Monaco was ejected from her pickup truck and pronounced dead at the scene

Icy conditions may be to blame for a fatal crash early Monday morning in Dover, New Hampshire.

State Police said troopers responded to the single vehicle crash on Route 16 north at 4:19 a.m. where a red Ford Ranger pickup truck had drifted off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned.

The driver, Olha Monaco, 43, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators had to close Route 16 in both directions for a few hours to treat the roadways and for the crash investigation to be completed.

The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation but a preliminary information indicates that icy roadway conditions and speed appear to be contributing factors.
