N.Y. Man Sentenced for Maine Drug Trafficking

James Winbrone faces up to 30 years in prison and a $2 million fine.

A federal judge has found a New York man guilty of heroin and cocaine trafficking in Maine after a two-day bench trial.

Judge D. Brock Hornby ruled Wednesday that 32-year-old James Winbrone of Brooklyn was guilty of possession with intent to distribute heroin and distributing crack cocaine. Court records say Winbrone was involved in drug distribution in Lewiston in 2014.

Winbrone faces up to 30 years in prison and a $2 million fine.

He might also be subject to a stronger "career offender" sentence because he has prior drug trafficking convictions.
