Nanny, With 3 Children, Arrested in Drug Bust

Saco, Maine, police say a nanny taking care of three children was one of two people arrested in a drug bust

Saco, Maine, police say a nanny taking care of three children was one of two people arrested in a drug bust.

Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland says officers acting on a tip staked out a hotel in town earlier this week. He tells the Portland Press Herald an SUV pulled up.

A man and the woman driving the SUV were arrested.

Police say the woman, 30-year-old Laurie Brann, of South Portland, had children ages 2 years, 3 years and 5 months with her. She told police she was their nanny.

Holland says the children were unharmed and returned to their parents, who were "very, very unhappy."

Police recovered heroin, cocaine and marijuana.

Brann, and the man, 25-year-old Tremayne McWilliams, of Boston, remain jailed.

They both face drug and child endangerment charges.
