Nightclub Shooting Suspect Held Without Bail

A Pittsfield, Massachusetts, man with what a judge called a "remarkably violent" criminal record has been ordered held without bail in connection with a shooting at a city nightclub last month.

Police allege 24-year-old David Moody shot another man in the leg with a handgun he is seen carrying in surveillance video from Johnny's Beach Club Bar on Sept. 25.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that the victim told investigators the shooting may have been connected to a fatal gang-related slaying in the city last summer.

Prosecutors said at Moody's dangerousness hearing Thursday that the gun has not yet been found, which raised concerns that Moody still had access to it and could retrieve it if released.

Moody's attorney said whoever shot the victim it "clearly" wasn't his client.
