The 10th Northeast Livestock Expo is kicking off in Windsor, Maine.

The event is taking place at the Windsor Fairgrounds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. State officials say the event showcases beef and dairy cattle, sheep, goats and rabbits.

Friday's schedule includes an event called "bugs and how they affect trees in agriculture," a demonstration of working oxen and an exhibition about raising chickens. Saturday's events include sales of calves and goats. Sunday is highlighted by a working steer field day. There will also be food vendors.

More than 1,200 kindergarteners through sixth graders will have class at the expo on Friday. The entire event is open to the public and admission is free.
