Police Identify Pedestrian Killed in Manchester Crash

Police have identified a pedestrian killed after a car struck him at the intersection of Main and Pearl Streets in Manchester on Friday night. 

Police have identified him as Charles Miller, 68, of Bolton. 

Police responded to the collision at 7:35 p.m. A southbound 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe hit a pedestrian crossing Main Street at the intersection, the preliminary police investigation indicates. The pedestrian was transported to Hartford Hospital to be treated for serious injuries but later died at the hospital. 

Oakland Street in Manchester was closed between South Street and Tolland Turnpike for several hours as police investigated, according to Tweets from police. Power lines were also down.

The identifies of the driver and pedestrian will not be released until family is notified. 

The Manchester Police Traffic Unit and Metro Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating.
