It's been four months since the child then known as "Baby Doe" washed ashore on Massachusetts' Deer Island, and more than a week since she was identified as 2-year-old Bella Bond.
Friday, her father and grandmother attended a vigil to remember her.
Some of the mourners were upset, telling the father to his face that he should have done more. Others say they were comforted that this baby is getting love, even if it is too late.
Bella's father, Joseph Amoroso, brought a new photo of his daughter - a girl he never met - to the vigil.
Necn asked Amoroso if he regretted not being more involved.
"I don't want to go there - yes, of course I do. Of course I have regrets. Absolutely," said Amoroso. "I could have done things differently. I could have been here a few months sooner. But I'm not going to do that to myself."
Amoroso's mother, Patricia Quinn, was also at the vigil. She says she was there when Bella's mother, Rachelle Bond, gave birth to Bella, and saw her regularly for the first eight months of her life.

Quinn told necn she thought the child might be in danger.
"I called DCF in 2013. I called twice. And they completely ignored me. I told them that I was Bella's grandmother, and they completely refused to tell me, inform me what's going on with her," she said. "I blame them. Very much."
"We had gotten DCF involved a few times. We've made a few phone calls," said Amoroso. "They always told us that they could not reveal any information about Bella."
Necn asked if Amoroso got a lawyer involved.
"I did not," he said. "I was in really no position to be able to get a lawyer involved at that time."
Amoroso says he was in Florida, trying to get clean, so that he could be the father Bella needed. But while he was away. Bella's mother had a boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, who police say beat the little girl to death.
McCarthy allegedly kept Bella's body in a refrigerator before disposing of it in Boston Harbor - reportedly with Bond's help.
"I feel like Rachelle is not telling the truth. She had every part behind trying to cover it up, if not even her hands in the actual murder," said Amoroso.
About 30 people took part in the vigil. Many of them brought squares of fabric with messages on them so organizers can create a quilt, which they hope could be buried with Bella - her father and grandmother said they liked that idea.
