A Bourne, Massachusetts, police officer shot in the line of duty will be discharged from the hospital Wednesday morning.
A police escort will bring Officer Jared MacDonald from Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Boston, down Main Street in Buzzards Bay.
Residents are invited to line Main Street, between 10:45 and 11:30.
MacDonald was shot when he responded to a home invasion where a Coast Guard member shot and killed a co-worker and injured his spouse.
MacDonald says if his body allows him, he'll soon be back on the force.
Friends and family continue to raise money on MacDonald's “GoFundMe” page. So far they've raised more than $47,000.
