Two Transported in Cambridge, Massachusetts After Altercation

The victims were transported from Pearl Street

Two people were transported to a hospital after an altercation in Cambridge, Mass., on Wednesday morning.

According to the Cambridge Police Department, the initial report was for a hit-and-run.

After further investigation, officers learned the first altercation occurred in Central Square.

A male was then dragged on Pearl Street by a dark Nissan.

The two parties, the driver and victim, both males, were believed to be known to each other.

A third party was pistol whipped and located along with the victim who was dragged.

Both victims were transported with non-life threatening injuries.

A firearm was discarded out of a vehicle matching the description of the suspects' and was located in the area of Allston and Pleasant Streets.

Joekeem Nelson, age 20, of 10 May Street in Cambridge, Mass. was taken into custody.

Nelson was arrested on multiple charges including assault to murder, armed, possession of a firearm or ammunition without an FID card, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.
