Outside Experts Sought in Hayride Death Case

This, before deciding whether there will be charges stemming from the accident

Prosecutors will consult with outside experts before deciding whether there will be charges stemming from a fatal October hayride.

The Portland Press Herald reports that Assistant District Attorney Andrew Matulis received a final investigation report on the crash from state fire officials around Thanksgiving. He says his office will consult with experts and the state fire marshal's office before deciding whether it will file charges against the owners of Harvest Hill Farms in Mechanic Falls, Maine.

The crash killed 17-year-old Cassidy Charette of Oakland and injured 22 others at a popular seasonal attraction. Matulis says the district attorney's office will make a decision about the case by February.
