Police in Weymouth, Massachusetts, say a man accused of robbing a bank Monday evening tried to use an Uber ride to escape.
Luis Mallett, 29, of Weymouth, is facing multiple charges in the incident.
Police say he went to the Santander Bank at 51 Pleasant St. at 5 p.m. and passed a note demanding money and indicating he had a bomb.
Mallett then fled on foot and witnesses told officers he got into an Uber vehicle heading to Brockton.
Officers found the vehicle and found Mallett in the back with $700, consistent with what was stolen from the bank.
Mallett had seven warrants for his arrest on charges including larceny and receiving stolen property.
He was additionally charged with unarmed robbery and false report relative to the location of an explosive device.

He was held without bail pending arraignment in Quincy District Court Tuesday.
It was not immediately clear if he has an attorney.
