PD: Man Tried to Drive Through Joint Base Cape Cod

Bail was set at $25,000 and he is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday

Massachusetts State Police have arrested a man accused of trying to drive through the Joint Base Cape Cod security checkpoint Monday morning.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Harold Lamotte of Charlestown, Rhode Island, allegedly tried to drive through around 2 a.m. Police pursued and arrested him.

They say he became combative during the arrest process.

He has been charged with failure to stop, speeding, negligent driving, trespassing, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and attempting to escape jail.

Bail was set at $25,000 and he is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
