Police in Stoughton, Massachusetts, say a pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck by a drunk driver Sunday night.
Vairo Martins, 38, of Whitman, is charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Stoughton police say Martins was driving a van and struck the victim as she was crossing Park Street shortly after 9:30 p.m.
The victim was taken to a Boston hospital with serious injuries. Her current condition is unknown.
It’s not clear when Martins will appear in court or if he has an attorney.
