Parents of 5 Die in Motorcycle Crash

The Tortis were taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The parents of five children have died in a motorcycle crash in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Police Chief Thomas Mulligan says the motorcycle carrying 33-year-old Brad Torti and 38-year-old Cherilynn Torti, of Coventry, was traveling north on Tower Hill Road at about 6 p.m. Sunday when a car in the southbound lane attempted to make a left turn. He said the motorcycle crashed into the vehicle's passenger side.

The Tortis were taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The Tortis family said in a statement they are "We cannot even begin to express the heartache and pain our family is feeling," but are thankful for the support they are getting.

The crash remains under investigation, but Mulligan says it appears as if neither the motorcycle nor car was speeding.
