    Before his press conference on Friday afternoon Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick offered support and well wishes to the Boston Police Department following the injury of two of their officers during a shooting in East Boston. (Published Friday, Oct. 14, 2016)

    Patriots head coach Bill Belichick offered the support of the team to the Boston Police Department during his press conference on Friday morning.

    Belichick said, "we want to express our appreciation and support for the Boston Police Department."

    He added, "we just want to let them know we're behind them and we appreciate them and appreciate what they do for us and how they protect us."

    The Boston Police Department responded thanking Belichick and the team for their kind words.

    The department posted, "Thank you again coach, we know Officers Cintolo and Morris will be watching the Patriots play on Sunday as they continue to recover from their injuries."
