Boston Police: Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Hit by Car

The victim was taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries

A female pedestrian is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Boston Wednesday morning.

Boston Police confirm the crash happened around 6:20 a.m. on Columbus and Malcolm X Boulevard near Roxbury Community College. 

The victim was taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The scene was blocked off with crime scene tape, and items like a cane, a shoe and clothing could be seen in the street.

The driver stopped after the crash and is cooperating with investigators. The white sedan that was involved in the crash sustained a cracked windshield.

The road was closed for over three hours as a result of the accident investigation, snarling traffic during the morning commute. The scene was eventually cleared and the road reopened around 10 a.m.
