Police in Maine say a 50-year-old man has been struck and killed by an automobile outside of a bar early Saturday morning and the driver left the scene of the accident.

York County Deputies found Kenneth Allen, formerly of Old Orchard Beach, dead by Willy's Ale House in Acton around 12:40 a.m.

Officials said two witnesses told them that Allen had just left the bar and was walking north on Route 109 when a small car traveling north struck him.

Police say the impact caused damage to the passenger side of the automobile. One of the car's mirrors was found at the scene.

Police are asking the public for assistance in locating the car or driver.
