Authorities are investigating after a person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train at the train station in Mansfield, Massachusetts, on Thursday afternoon.
Amtrak says it happened just after 12:30 p.m. and involved a train that originated in Washington heading to Boston.
Transit police say the person hit and killed was a male; however, his age and identity have not been released.
No one was injured on board the train.
MBTA's commuter rail said Providence Line trains will experience significant delays due to the incident.
