Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in New Britain

New Britain Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian on Saturday afternoon.

Officers say they arrived to the area of 250 Allen St. around 4 p.m. after a report of a serious crash involving an evading vehicle and a pedestrian.

When they arrived, they say they learned a 64-year-old New Britain man suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died, police say. The victim has been identified as Angel Colon, who lived on Dudley Street.

Police believe the evading vehicle is a silver four-door 2000 Toyota Avalon with a sunroof and tinted windows. The vehicle may have front-end and windshield damage. It left the scene heading west on Allen Street, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who might have information is asked to call Sergeant Steven King at (860) 826-3071.
