DA: 14-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed by MBTA Commuter Train in Newton, Massachusetts

The teenager who was struck and killed by an MBTA commuter train Friday in Newton, Massachusetts, was a 14-year-old high school student.

Transit police said the victim was struck by a train on the Worcester branch near the West Newton off-ramp in Newtonville at 8:45 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation, but transit police said foul play is not suspected.

The teenager has not been identified but the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office said the boy is from Newton.
