‘Peeping Tom' Charged With Secretly Videotaping Bowdoin College Students

Stephen McIntire was already in jail on other charges

A Maine man has been charged with videotaping Bowdoin College students through their windows without their consent.

WCSH-TV reports that the charges against Stephen McIntire, 55, of Bath, result from an investigation into multiple "peeping tom" complaints in the area of Bowdoin College last fall. Some of the incidents occurred on campus and some of them off campus.

All of the people in the videos have been notified, police said.

McIntire was already being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail, having been arrested last year for allegedly breaking into a home in Brunswick and exposing himself to a woman. He was also considered a person of interest in a rape case involving a female Bowdoin College student.

McIntire is a known sex offender and was attending a sex offender support group meeting near the campus on the night of the alleged assault, according to police.
