A person has been struck and killed by an Amtrak Downeaster train in North Berwick, Maine.

Officials say the train was on its way back from Boston around 7 p.m., carrying 105 passengers.

None of the passengers nor crew were injured.

Amtrak said the speed limit on the tracks through the area is 60 miles per hour, but couldn't confirm how fast the train was moving at the time of the incident.

The train was stopped on the tracks for about two hours while officials investigated the scene and switched out a crew.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Police say the investigation is on-going.
