90-Year-Old Woman Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Cheshire

Cheshire police are investigating after a 90-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night.

Mildred Masserman, 90, of Cheshire, was crossing South Main Street when a driver headed north on the road ran into her, police said.

Police responded around 6:56 p.m. Saturday night after receiving reports of the accident near King Road.

Masserman died of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle did stay on scene. No charges have been filed at this time, according to police.

Details about what may have caused the accident were not immediately available.

Cheshire police continue to investigate the crash.

One lane of South Main Street was shut down as police investigated, but the scene has since cleared.

Nearly a year ago, another pedestrian died after a car struck him on South Main Street  while he was crossing the road on South Main Street in Cheshire.
